Precious Stones

I've been holding these for you. They're getting heavy. I picked them up one at a time on a walk along a river, on a cold September day in the North Country. The first snows of the season dusted the Green and Red colored Mountains over night, and the morning broke with mysterious dark clouds, mist, and flurries. One of those days when a normally big and breathtaking environment,  becomes Grand.  I truly believed the whole of Beauty and Grandeur were mine, I felt like a kid in a candy store.

Inside the east entrance to Glacier National Park, just past the Apgar Visitor Center. on the south end of McDonald Lake there is a river. If the water isn't to high in the rocky gravel washes, one can stay to the right side of the river and walk for some distance with only cold feet. A group of 6 or 8 mule deer crossed the river very close to me, and as I worked my way through some brushy washes. Farther  up a rise, I saw a herd of elk,  including a big bull,  run across a meadow and into a grove of deciduous trees at the base of the Mountains.  I wondered if I had  walked into another world ...

I thought about you heavy, and figured I'd bring a piece of it back for you. It was in this place, I found these stones, each one  painstakingly chosen for you only, complete with Beauty and Color of the snow covered Mountains ingrained.

I've kept them in a grocery bag In a closet. Dehydrated for years, dull and lusterless, I soaked them in the kitchen sink, and everything came back just as it was, after a dusting of snow and the misting rain on the day I walked along the river in this beautiful place. In this simple time I knew they were special, but could not imagine so many would see them. My humble depiction of the both diverse and relative structure of physical beauty, the sublime, the mysterious design of calling _

and the way I feel about you.

Glacier National Park, Montana

"" A few more moons, a few more winters, and not one of the descendants of the mighty hosts that once moved over this broad land or lived in happy homes, protected by the Great Spirit, will remain to mourn over the graves of a people once more powerful and hopeful than yours. But why should I mourn at the untimely fate of my people? Tribe follows tribe, and nation follows nation, like the waves of the sea. It is the order of nature, and regret is useless. Your time of decay may be distant, but it will surely come, for even the White Man whose God walked and talked with him as friend to friend, cannot be exempt from the common destiny. We may be brothers after all. We will see "".   excerpt from   AUTHENTIC TEXT OF CHIEF SEATTLE'S TREATY ORATION 1854.   Version 1 as it appeared in the Seattle Sunday Star on Oct. 29, 1887, in a column by Dr. Henry A. Smith.

The beauty of Glacier in my opinion rivals that of any other land in North America except Alaska. It is truly a spectacular experience. Across the border into Alberta is Waterton Lakes National Park,  which is just as beautiful, and it doesn't end there.

Funny thing about boundaries, you don't hear much if anything about the other side until you get there. When you do, you don't hear much from where you came. It's got to do with economics, see. Get your gas and supplies on the U.S. side before crossing over. The Canadians will pull your eyes out. If you're in a motor home don't buy meat or fresh vegetables before coming back into the U.S. as they may be taken by the USDA people.

Many Glacier, Glacier National Park

Former native range of The Blackfeet Indian Nation, but This one Nation Under God of ours swindled them out of it.

Yep, they started their lies and thievery at Plymouth Rock, and didn't stop till they acquired Yosemite. God kicked the evil sob's out of Heaven, and the Devils have plundered this Earth.

They Made War with and cheated the Red Man out of everything that was rightfully His. They came from overseas with sheets of blank paper and wrote their own Land Titles and Laws to enforce their greed.

The White man shot the Indians like dogs and glorified themselves in doing so. European Heads of State perfected their wickedness and robbery for thousands of years, sailed across the Atlantic and polished their dark skills at the expense of Peoples who lived as one with The Earth.

"We will Buy it for pennies on the dollar and rent it back to the Savages ". "Yeah, we will put a meter on it, and these ignorant natives will never get the Title back, or own it again, nor realize our existence because we are The Deep State. "

However, Karma.

He walked across most Native American Lands in North America and learned to read what is chiseled in the cliffs and overhangs. Yeah, him in the blue coat. The Glyphs and Paintings say " There is assembled a great Army. Its name is " here to set the record straight, have come to take it back, we were not kicked out of Heaven ".
