What do you See ?

... a gentle wind whispered,

" So you want to know the truth do ya. What lives there, deep inside the hearts of men_  what good_ what evil... So I say to you then, from this moment on, you will be as two, one being your heart and the other your eyes. One only a witness to the deeds of the other. In this way will you know_ in one lifetime.

So you want to know in intricate detail, the design of Heaven and Earth, you don't say. What Form of Beauty_ what degree of random... So I say to you then, when you look at the world, you will be as two, one being your heart and the other your eyes. One only a witness to the action of the other... by these means, will you understand, across Seven Seas and One Hundred Mountain Ranges. "

Louisiana Tropical Greenhouse

These are some of my 2013 new experimental plants along with a few older reliables. Some are absolutely new to the Universe,  imagine that darling,  thanks to people who believe,  and really do change the world, just for you and me.

Foreground waterlily Albert Greenburg, far left  Miami RoseDirector Moore, far corner of pond  Trailblazer,  Bull's Eye,  Tanzanite, far right almost out of the picture  Ultra Violet.  The colors are fairly accurate except Trailblazer, which is a bit more yellow,  via smartphone.

These are tropical waterlilies, and will go dormant or expire at some point during the fall and winter when the water temperature falls below 60 degrees in zone 8b environment, however, the tubers will survive the cold better in a cold frame, or heated green house  where they can be forced.

Most tubers do survive here which will provide you and all your friends with plant-lets identical to the parent...... If your already a gardener, and you really love plants, waterlilies are like fine wine my good friend, and will escort  you inside the colors, where you will experience impossible  beauty from within.  See link below.

In the far right there is a large dark leaved elephant ear. It is Colocasia Dragon Heart, at about 5 foot tall, it's only 3 months old from a 4 inch pot tissue culture.

The three dark stemmed bananas are Musa Thia Black . I'm thinking this banana is going to be the epitome of the phrase " fabulously elegant "...

Soldiers of Light

Men come to take the take the magic from you cousin. They're  gonna tell you that you need a bigger house and car than your neighbor, and a piece of paper with a big number on it. Don't listen to them. They've got no souls.

Square Tower House

Spectacles will endure in obscurity, should one live a thousand lifetimes, and countless be  wonders in the vista. Infinite in diversity of form,  arrangement of color,  correctness of distance,  they are conducted by the symphony of time, and narrated  by the wind.      Mesa Verde,  Colorado

Hueco Tanks

Rock art in the Southwestern U.S. dates back 3000 plus years.  During these early years it was common for one people to respect the art of those who came before, even though they might be of different tribes, as many led transient lifestyles.

In this depiction, the inconsiderate and selfish nature of the modern day is accurately displayed by destructive individuals who's understanding is dwarfed by a people who lived hundreds or possibly thousands of years earlier.

Since earliest know time, Hueco tanks has been a junction for travelers, where year round water  has allowed  crossing the hostile environment of the desert. A rock hound paradise  yes, but a world renowned rock climbing mecca.    Northeast of Elpaso Tx

Bambusa Chungii Bamboo

Bambusa Chungii  (Tropical Blue Bamboo) interred the quarantine station in the 90's after which I purchased a start from Robert Saporito of Tropical Bamboo in South Florida. Being a plant hunter collector for many years I must say this plant has an ornamental value in the top ten percent of anything I've ever grown.

This particular plant is approximately 6 years old and if you could imagine, very much neglected. It should attain 2-inch culms 20 to 30 feet in height and a spread 8 feet at 10 years of age.  New shoots arrive in August with very good bluish white bloom color, hardy to 22 degrees here in South Louisiana, where only the very top is bitten by the cold.

If you could only have one plant, you would love it, because it's got da stuff you need.

Spirit of Magic

Up in the high places, when the hour is late, as the last little rays of light have all danced and skipped there way across the clouds into the sunset, and all reasonable hope for something more wonderful is but dashed_

this is the exact environment for the five seconds of magic to appear. So in this special time blink quickly, be wholeheartedly attentive, keep a big smile handy, for it is you that the magic comes to greet_  and if you do everything  just right... it will return.  Never forget this. MY BEAUTIFUL WIFE TOOK THIS ONE.

Stormy Love

In the big landscape, inside the gardener's heart, the color red travels far. Uncommon in the natural world,  it's so mysteriously attractive, that he might see it first,  beyond  other colors even closer. He can't understand why it's so marvelous, but it's the brand of drug he needs, so he lives inside it _ some stormy kind of love.

Fat Chance

It was always too something for you. That's why you can't understand me, why your not here living in this time with me. It was too expensive, it was too much trouble, it was too far, too risky, too cold, too dangerous.

All these factors are real it's true, but where did doing nothing get you. Don't you see what you let slip away.  I am no longer the person you once knew.  Moreover, the complexities of this great distance you will never understand.

I will advise again, that should you search your whole life and be so fortunate to find something beautiful, go for it man. Jump dammit.

Monument Valley, Artist's Point

Young man,

Might I call your attention to a few things of great value. If I could give you an amulet of good fortune for luck on your journey of life, then I would instill an attitude of curiosity and relentless question deep within your mind's eye.  If I could arm you with one mighty weapon for Armageddon, that would absolutely be the pure and simple humility of nature/ the universe.  You would be fearless.

Store up what no one can take from you, what is of greatest value. This is the ability to see the beauty we live amidst. It is hard won, so be patient.

Should you be so troubled and not know what to do,  remember the rule " in ten years what difference would it make ."

When your out of luck and money, wolves have encircled you, some of which are members of your own household, and  your world is turned upside down, believe this is your greatest opportunity.

Imagine that an infinitely intelligent Spirit wants more than anything for you to understand him, to be well read and inquisitive. He wants you to study all religions, so that you can understand all people. He will require you be up to date on your science, and extremely capable in mathematics. He wants you to understand the vastness of space and how it relates to time, and how terribly important is every hour of chance.

Carpe Diem

Rules of Paradise

Yes you can keep the color. Imagine that...  And the texture and form are yours to arrange as you please, so long as you are creative. Even the sound of the rustling leaves, every bit of the blue sky, the gentle wind in the mountain vista all granted_ you can have them. Heaven is yours to make, all that you learn is yours to take. But all those things you can touch do not belong to you, and the slightest inkling of self worth is unacceptable.

Place of Reconcilliation

Young man,

There are things I must tell you in earnest. You will at some point in your life part ways with someone you care for a great deal. And at this point you do not know who this will be.

It might set you free if it were true, that you were the one who gave, and they who took. So make it then.

Words are Primitive, Images are Not

Imagine all the beauty in the world being described by such simple tools as written words. It will be  exceedingly difficult cousin,  to fill this vastness of  empty pages by  hand.  But we are spirit beings, and it's within us to do wonderful things,  because we can imagine them. Excel at this cousin, excel.
